About Dr. Mark Troski

Dr Troski studied medicine in Melbourne and commenced specialty training in ophthalmology at the world renowned Moorfield’s Eye Hospital in London in 1989. He completed this specialist training at the Royal Victorian  Eye and Ear Hospital (RVEEH) in Melbourne.

After completing his specialist studies, Dr Troski joined his father’s ophthalmic practice, established by his father in Collins Street in the 1950s. In March 2007, Dr Troski relocated his consulting suite to Level 4, 100 Victoria Parade East Melbourne, just above the new Victoria Parade Surgery Centre (VPSC). This consulting suite is centrally located to patients throughout metropolitan Melbourne and country Victoria, being accessible by both private and public transport. Parking is available for patients below the building, on the street parking and in the nearby RVEEH parking lot.

Opened in September 2006, the VPSC was developed by a group of ophthalmic surgeons, including Dr Troski, who recognised the need for a state-of-the-art day surgery in Melbourne for all Victorians.  They combine the best knowledge and experience with the latest technology to provide the most advanced ophthalmic surgical facility in the region.

Dr Troski is now performing all of his metropolitan cataract surgery at VPSC using these new state-of-the-art facilities. From his new consulting suite he is able to offer country patients eye assessment and surgery in the same building on the same day - minimising their travelling requirements. Patients will have the standard of care they deserve and the convenience they need.

Dr Troski is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and is also a foundation member of the Australian  Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

Dr Troski specialises in cataract surgery and has been performing cataract operations for over twenty years. He performs many hundreds of cataract operations each year. Dr Troski provides a “unique personalised” approach to cataract surgery. He feels it is important to treat each patient individually and for each patient and their family to be comfortable with the surgical procedure.

At his new consulting suite, Dr Troski has four full-time office staff to assist patients with any questions regarding cataract surgery and a dedicated orthoptist who is actively involved in the process of calculating and correlating surgical results. The continuous review of surgical results by Dr Troski and his staff has been proven to optimise surgical outcomes. He also takes an active interest in modern developments in ophthalmic surgery so that patients have the benefit of all the latest worldwide techniques.

Dr Troski is frequently asked to give lectures on the latest developments in cataract surgery to Optometrists and to other Ophthalmic surgeons. He is acknowledged as a leader in the field of cataract surgery in Australia.
